CLUB TO HOST ANNUAL MEMORIAL FIXTURE

30 April 2021

Bradford City AFC will host its annual memorial fixture - marking the 36th anniversary of the Valley Parade Fire Disaster - when welcoming Scunthorpe United to the Utilita Energy Stadium tomorrow.

On 11th May 1985, 56 supporters tragically lost their lives and hundreds more were left with life-changing injuries.

For the final home fixture of every season, all at the club collectively pause to remember those affected.

Tomorrow, both the Bantams and Scunthorpe players will walk out to a rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone', before both club captains lay a wreath in the centre of the field.

A minute's silence will be observed as respects are paid, while a flag hung in The Kop will serve as a constant reminder of the significance and meaning of the day.

With City set to take part in a social media boycott from 3.00pm today, supporters will be able to follow proceedings from tomorrow's annual memorial fixture - marking the 36th anniversary of the Valley Parade Fire Disaster - via our official website
