Goal-scorer Elliot Watt lauded another Bantams victory - following an impressive 4-1 win over Forest Green Rovers.

The 21-year-old netted the opening goal of the contest at the Utilita Energy Stadium - on his return to the starting 11.

Watt stressed the importance of City gaining back-to-back successes and was thoroughly impressed with his side’s all-round performance.

He said: “After getting back to winning ways against Colchester United, it was important we added to that.

“Forest Green are a good side and are up there for a reason, so it felt great to have won by a large margin.

“I thought we played very well in all areas of the field. We were clinical going forward and defended very well.

“Hopefully, we can keep up our momentum in our upcoming games.”

The City midfielder was also thrilled to score his third goal for the club, and second against Mark Cooper’s men this season.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers playmaker has played appeared in every league game so far this season, and hit the back of the net for the first time since November.

He added: “Of course, it felt great to score the opening goal.

“I do not get many, so it is always nice when I do find the net.

“The ball fell to me in a good position and, thankfully, I struck it well enough for it to beat the goalkeeper.

“I am grateful to have played in so many games this season and am just hoping I can continue to improve.

“The most important thing is that we carry on winning and I am delighted to have helped the team do that against Forest Green.”
