ADAMS: ‘WE ARE PREPARED’

26 August 2021

Derek Adams insists City are “prepared” for this weekend's Sky Bet League Two trip to Leyton Orient.

The Bantams have had a full week to get ready for the encounter - which kicks off at 3.00pm on Saturday afternoon at the Breyer Group Stadium.

The Scotsman is anticipating a difficult challenge from the East London side, but stressed the importance of his team gaining another three points.

He said: “We have been working very hard in training and now feel ready for the game.

“Having a full week to prepare, for the first time this season, has allowed us to do things a little differently.

“This will certainly be a tough game. Leyton Orient are a good team with plenty of dangerous players and a good manager who likes to play a certain way.

“No matter how we perform, the most important thing is that we gain another victory.”

Adams also confessed his satisfaction at his side's start to the campaign, though has called for no complacency among City's ranks.

The Bantams have so far taken 10 points out of a possible 12 - the club’s best start to a league campaign since 2016/17.

He added: “Of course, I am very pleased with how we have started the season.

“When you look at our performances and the number of points we have on the board, we cannot complain at all.

“The team has shown plenty of mental strength against some tough opposition in the early stages of the season, which is very encouraging.

“However, it is important to remember, we are still in the very early stages and there is a long way to go, but hopefully we can keep on winning.”
