City manager Derek Adams insists the Bantams are "ready" for their Sky Bet League Two opening-day encounter at Exeter City.
This will be the Scotsman’s first competitive match in charge of the club since being appointed in June.
Adams is expecting a tough test from Grecians at St James Park, but believes his team are capable of overcoming the challenge.
He said: “We know this is going to be a tough test, very early on in the season.
“Exeter are a good team who are always up there in the league table, but we are more than ready for the challenge.
“I have been very encouraged with how well the team has gelled together over the course of pre-season.
“We have also gained some really positive results on the pitch, so we are going into this with plenty of confidence.
“Every single player has worked hard to get up to speed for the new season and, hopefully, we can get off to a positive start by winning.”
Adams was also eager to mention how much he is looking forward to his first campaign at the City helm.
The Bantams’ trip down to Devonshire will be their first game of a season which will see supporters return to full-capacity stadia.
He added: “Whenever a new season approaches, it is hard not to get excited.
“We are coming into the new season with high ambitions, and it is down to us to achieve what we want to.
“We made plenty of new signings over the summer, and many of them will be hoping to impress on their league debuts - as well as throughout the season.
“Having our travelling supporters there will also be fantastic to witness. Hopefully, we can give them the result they want.”
