BIG MATCH PREVIEW: MANSFIELD TOWN v CITY

20 August 2021

The Bantams will be looking to earn their third-consecutive victory in Sky Bet League Two when they travel to Mansfield Town tomorrow afternoon.

City have won three of the last four meetings between the two sides, including both encounters last season.

We have created a Big Match Preview to provide you with all the important information you need to know heading into the contest.

TEAM NEWS

City: The Bantams will be without Abo Eisa who has been ruled out for four weeks.

Lee Angol could miss out due to an injury picked up in City’s victory over Stevenage, with the Bantams still awaiting scan results.

Levi Sutton and Oscar Threlkeld will both still be missing for City's trip to the One Call Stadium.

Mansfield: Oliver Hawkins is expected to return to the starting XI after missing the Stags’ previous game through illness.

The Stags are expected to have a fully fit squad ahead of the contest.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID

Derek Adams: “It will be another difficult game, as Mansfield are in good form and have not lost yet.

“We go into it full of confidence, after a great victory the other night where we beat another side who had won both their opening two matches and not conceded a goal.

“To have pretty much sold out our allocation and, be taking over 1,600 supporters down there is fantastic.

“Our fans will make it a brilliant atmosphere, and it is again our job to try and send them home happy.”

Nigel Clough: “We are all looking forward to it.

“Bradford City is a huge club and Derek is a great manager who has an impressive track record in this league.

“They have some quality forward players who will cause us problems, and we need to be ready for the challenge.

“We have a perfect record at home so far this season, so hopefully we can keep this up.”
