SUKIENNICKI PENS PROFESSIONAL DEAL

4 August 2021

Rising star Olivier Sukiennicki has signed a one-year professional contract with the Bantams, keeping him at the Utilita Energy Stadium until the summer of 2022.

The Polish youth international joined the club - initially as a trialist - in the summer of 2019, before enjoying a two-year scholarship within City’s academy ranks.

Sukiennicki already has one senior appearance to his name in claret and amber, having made his debut in last season’s Papa John’s Trophy clash with Oldham Athletic, at the Utilita Energy Stadium on 10 November 2020.

The 18-year-old is expected to further his development in the Bantams’ under-19s side - which has been introduced ahead of the 2021/22 season - alongside fellow first-year professional Charlie Wood.

Sukiennicki said: “I am delighted to sign my first professional contract at Bradford City.

“This club gives young players like myself opportunities to play at a high level, with great people around me.

“We can achieve a lot of success as a club, and my aim is to now play and train in the first team - week in, week out.

“Training with better and stronger players will develop me further as a footballer. I have kept focused during pre-season, and have been doing extra training alone - alongside my training schedule here.

“I firmly believe the best of me is yet to come, and will be ready and raring to take any opportunities I am presented throughout the season.”

Bantams boss Derek Adams added: “Olivier is another promising, talented player within our academy who we are delighted to have tied down on a professional contract.

“Having already agreed similar deals with Charlie Wood and Harvey Rowe, we were keen to ensure Olivier continued his development at Bradford City.

“To have been able to reward another upcoming prospect with a professional contract is a brilliant example of how strong and promising our academy remains.

“The beauty of the new under-17s and under-19s academy structure means he will be able to continue growing and get plenty of game time in the academy, with us closely monitoring him.

“We are looking forward to seeing how Olivier continues to develop as a player and a person over the course of the next 12 months, and will do all we can to ensure his progression.”

Sukiennicki is available to sponsor for the 2021/22 season. For more information, please e-mail commercial@bradfordcityafc.com.
