Two-goal hero Andy Cook praised another City triumph - after helping the side to a 2-0 victory over Cheltenham Town.

The 30-year-old netted his first two goals for the club early on in each half, as the Bantams made it back-to-back victories in Sky Bet League Two.

The City forward stressed the importance of victory at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium and was eager to praise his team-mates for their performances on the day.

He said: “It was a great result for us.

“Cheltenham are a very good team, so we knew it was going to be a tough place to come.

“The win keeps our momentum going and I thought every player was excellent, which was the main reason we came away with the three points.

“We have some really good players at the club and that showed throughout this game.

“Everyone is currently fighting for their place in the starting 11, which shows how good our squad depth currently is.”

Cook also confessed his joy at scoring his first couple of goals for City.

The Mansfield Town loanee signed for the Bantams in January and was thrilled to help the team gain a valuable three points.

He added: “I am delighted to get off the mark for the club and score twice.

“I was very pleased with the way I scored my second goal in particular.

“The main thing to take from the game was the fact we gained three points so I am very pleased I helped the team achieve this.

“There is a great set of lads here which has made it easy for me to settle in.

“Right now, I am just staying focused on getting more positive results and scoring more goals for the club.
