SUTTON CONFIDENT AHEAD OF SCUNTHORPE CLASH

9 February 2021

Levi Sutton insists the Bantams are “full of confidence” - ahead of this evening’s meeting with Scunthorpe United.

City suffered their first defeat in nine games on Saturday, losing 3-2 to Exeter City.

Despite defeat at St James Park, the midfielder is looking forward to a return to midweek action, and feels he and his team-mates are confident of being able to return to winning ways.

Sutton said: “You want to get back out there as soon as possible, after a defeat.

“We have had conversations since Saturday’s game and know we need to go out and put it right at Scunthorpe.

“We are all still full of confidence and head into every game knowing we can win.

“We still feel we are getting better with every game and, hopefully, we can continue to pick up results going forward.”

An Iron academy graduate, Sutton is all the more excited at the prospect of facing his hometown club for the first time.

The 23-year-old joined the Bantams from the Sands Venue Stadium during the summer, and is determined to ensure his return is a positive one.

He added: “At the start of the season, this fixture was one of the first I looked for.

“I look forward to every game we play, but to play against the club where I spent the early years of my career will be a bit emotional.

“I want to go back there and perform well, and help ensure we get the job done and get back to winning ways.

“I have a lot of memories at Scunthorpe, but am fully focussed on getting three points for us, and am really excited for the game.”
