TRUEMAN LOOKING TO CONTINUE BUILDING MOMENTUM

Mark Trueman has stressed the importance of his side doing all they can to continue building momentum - ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Cheltenham Town.

The Bantams returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Morecambe on Tuesday evening, having seen matches against Scunthorpe United and Salford City abandoned and postponed respectively.

Trueman was delighted with the character and resilience once again on show as City bounced back at the Utilita Energy Stadium, though insists this must be built on.

He said: “It was important for us to bounce back after the Exeter defeat - and our level of performance really was there for all to see, which was pleasing.

“We have a positive mindset, and showed the character we have got within our ranks on Tuesday. We were delighted with the mentality the players showed.

“It is about us now building even further on that and making sure we do not dip off in any way.

“We go into every match with confidence and know we need to head to Cheltenham with the same mentality.”

Trueman admits his side must be on form in order to return from Gloucestershire with a result, against the third-placed Robins.

He is aware of the threats Michael Duff’s men will pose, and has called for the Bantams to do all that can to cause them problems.

City’s interim boss added: “For me, we are playing one of the best sides in the division.

“Cheltenham are very organised, but have a lot of quality at the top end of the pitch as well, and so cause a lot of teams issues.

“It will be a tough game and we will have to be at our very best to go down there and get any kind of result, which we are determined to do.”
