TRUEMAN PLEASED WITH CITY REACTION

Mark Trueman was delighted with his side’s reaction to a challenging few weeks - following this evening’s 2-1 victory over Morecambe.

The Bantams’ past two fixtures have been postponed and abandoned respectively - after a 3-2 defeat at Exeter City.

Trueman was pleased with his team’s showing and felt they were worth the three points.

He said: “Putting in a good performance was key, after having our games against Scunthorpe United and Salford City called off.

“We wanted to see a good attitude and application, and I thought the team showed that.

“We are delighted to get the three points because there were a lot of teams winning around us, when we had our matches postponed.

“We were happy with what we did in possession. We looked comfortable and moved the ball well - which allowed us to create some good chances.”

Trueman also feels his side will draw added confidence from the victory - given the calibre of their promotion-chasing opponents.

The Bantams chowed character to come from behind and beat the Shrimps at the Utilita Energy Stadium, and City’s interim boss is looking for them to keep the momentum up.

He added: “We were very pleased with the performance and showed good character and endeavour.

“We want to get better each game and are showing that with our strong performances.

“Morecambe are in the play-off positions because they are a good team, but we showed our qualities - in and out of possession.

“We just have to keep building and using this confidence to get some more positive results.”

The Bantams will be looking to make it two unbeaten on Saturday - when travelling to Cheltenham Town. CLICK HERE to purchase an iFollow video match pass and ensure
