Match Previews

26 January 2021

The Bantams are back in midweek action - travelling to Southend United in Sky Bet League Two on Tuesday evening (7.00pm).

Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars’ side sit 20th in the table and are unbeaten in the last six matches. The Shrimpers are currently bottom of the league, having won one of their last five matches.

We have created this Big Match Preview to take you through everything you need to know about City’s visit to Roots Hall.

Supporters will be able to catch every minute of the game LIVE by purchasing a video iFollow match pass.

The pass - available for £10 - will ensure supporters do not miss a minute of the action, with build-up beginning from 6.00pm.

City: Tuesday evening should prove to be too soon for Harry Pritchard and Lee Novak to return. The pair are still nursing injuries but are not expected to be long-term absentees.

Danny Rowe played the full 90 minutes against Cambridge United last time out and is likely to feature again. Niall Canavan, Rumarn Burrell and Matthew Foulds could make their City debuts.

Paudie O’Connor is set to captain the side again, having taken the armband against the U’s on Saturday afternoon.

Southend: Former Bantam Timothee Dieng will not feature against his former side, having picked up a suspension over the weekend.

The Shrimpers will also be without dangerous Arsenal loanee James Olayinka, who is sidelined with injury.

Three first-half goals were enough to see the Bantams clinch all three points against Southend United - at the Utilita Energy Stadium - in November.
