FDP STRIKES ST BEDE’S PARTNERSHIP

19 January 2021

Bradford City Community Foundation’s Football Development Programme has today struck a partnership with St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College.

The agreement will see the Heaton-based academic institute deliver A-Level education to youths on the programme - commencing from September 2021.

Based at the Utilita Energy Stadium, scholars will have the full range of ‘SBSJ’ A-Levels available to them.

Football and education scholarships within City’s Community Foundation provide opportunities in the game for players across the district, with there now being even more scope to further their academic development - with BTECs in sport or business as well as A-Levels.

Head of the Football Development Programme, Adam Fox, said: “This is a fantastic partnership.

“It allows us to open the door to boys and girls who are looking to continue pursuing their goals in football - while getting a first-class education.”

Deputy headteacher at St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College, Paul Mulligan, added: “We are very pleased to partner with the city’s football club.

“They share our commitment to the holistic education of young people and we are excited to begin this process - as the first stage in our Sports Development Project.”
