New signing Danny Rowe is eagerly anticipating the prospect of his City debut - ahead of this afternoon’s trip to Cambridge United (3.00pm).
The frontman joined the Bantams from Oldham Athletic on Wednesday, and is in line to make his first appearance in claret and amber at the Abbey Stadium today.
Having enjoyed the first few training sessions with his new team-mates, Rowe feels he has already settled in well and is focussed on kicking on in West Yorkshire.
He said: “I am fully fit and am buzzing to get going. I have come here to play games and do well. If I am to play on Saturday, I am ready.
“I have met the lads and trained over the past few days. Everything has been great. It is about settling in, now, and making sure I hit the ground running.
“There have been good chats with Mark (Trueman) and Conor (Sellars) who have outlined what they expect from me and how they see me fitting into the side.
“The conversations have been positive and I just cannot wait to get going properly, now.”
Refleting on his move to the Utilita Energy Stadium, Rowe further outlined his eagerness to achieve success as a Bantam.
The former AFC Fylde forward is ready to shoulder expectation and help City work towards long-term ambitions, beginning in Cambridgeshire.
He added: “I know a lot about the club and was really keen to come here.
“There was interest from elsewhere but, when I got the call from Bradford City, I wanted to come here and nowhere else.
“Everyone wants this club to be higher up, which is the ambition. We are not happy with where we are, and it is about me coming here, scoring and being successful.
“To be successful, I need to score goals, and I know that comes with a lot of expectation.”
