TRUEMAN CONFIDENT AHEAD OF BARROW CLASH

29 January 2021

Mark Trueman insists confidence within City's camp is high - ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Barrow.

The Bantams look to record their eighth game without defeat at the Utilita Energy Stadium, when welcoming the 21st-placed Bluebirds.

And, while not overlooking the fact the Bantams currently sit just three league places above Saturday’s visitors, Trueman has called for another encouraging performance.

He said: “We are always realistic with regards to the league position we are in, but have to be confident going into this game.

“Ahead of every match, regardless of who we play, we go in with a positive attitude, and looking to impose ourselves on our opponents.

“We are on a good run at the moment which naturally breeds confidence, and we need to make sure we approach the game with as much confidence as we have been doing recently.”

Having turned attention to studying the Cumbria-based outfit since Tuesday’s victory over Southend United, Trueman is aware of the threats they will present.

City’s interim manager added: “We have prepared for this game as diligently as we have for every other game this season.

“They have a new manager who has already managed to get a few decent results, and have brought in some good players during this month’s transfer window.

“We are confident, but have to be aware of the threat they will bring, and ensure we do all we can to secure three more big points.”
