City boss Derek Adams was thrilled with his side’s "outstanding" first-half performance - following their 2-0 pre-season triumph over Sky Bet League One side Accrington Stanley.
A double from forward Andy Cook was enough for the Bantams to come out on top at the Wham Stadium, as they defeated higher-league opposition for the third time in pre-season.
Adams was very pleased with his team’s all-round effort and believes they were full value for their win.
He said: “It was an outstanding performance from everyone.
“Of course, we began the game very well and could have ended up scoring more than we did.
“At times, we played some scintillating football and the formation we went with caused them plenty of problems.
“The players worked their socks off and thoroughly deserved the victory on the day.”
Adams was also eager to reflect positively on City’s overall pre-season campaign.
In the build-up to 2021/22, the Bantams have had seven outings in total, winning six of them.
He added: “This has certainly been a successful pre-season for us.
“One of the most encouraging things has been how all of the new signings have come in and worked well with the players who were already here.
“Everyone here has had a chance to impress at one point or another, which has been great for them.
“On the whole, we have been very happy with how this squad of players has performed.
“Overall, we are all happy with the level we have managed to get up to and we now look forward to our opening league game against Exeter City.”
