City manager Derek Adams was happy with his side’s performance in their 2-0 pre-season friendly victory against Sky Bet Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
A goal in each half from Lee Angol and Callum Cooke saw the Bantams defeat higher-league opposition for the second time in eight days at the Utilita Energy Stadium.
Adams was encouraged by his players’ display at both ends of the field - and is continuing to look ahead to the new Sky Bet League Two season.
He said: “This was a really good performance from us.
“We started the game very well and just continued to grow in confidence throughout.
“Of course, we came into this one knowing Blackburn are a good and experienced side, but we dealt with their threats well on the day.
“It was great to see us create plenty of chances, and we could have scored even more than we did.
“Overall, we are delighted with another win and a clean sheet.
“We now hope to continue building momentum by winning our last couple of pre-season games, before the new season officially begins.”
Adams also confessed his delight at the atmosphere created by the 1,660 City supporters inside Valley Parade.
This was the Bantams’ largest attendance since March 2020.
He added: “Of course, it was great to see the supporters here again.
“They created a fantastic atmosphere and sounded very excited, which is always encouraging to hear.
“It was great they got to see most of the new signings in action, and they now might have an idea of how we plan to play our football in the season ahead.”
The Bantams are back in action on Tuesday evening (July 27), when travelling to Chesterfield (7.30pm).
