City kept up their perfect pre-season record with a 2-1 victory over Yorkshire neighbours Guiseley.

Despite falling behind early on, a first-half double from summer signing Lee Angol was enough for the Bantams to triumph at Nethermoor Park.

The Lions broke the deadlock when Kaine Felix was on hand to score inside the penalty area, after connecting with a pull-back to rifle home.

The hosts nearly doubled their advantage when the ball was played through to Felix, but he ended up sending his effort just wide of the post when one on one with Richard O'Donnell.

Derek Adams’ men drew level with 35 minutes on the clock when Lee Angol robbed his defender.

The frontman drove towards the home defence before striking a fine effort into the top corner.

A few minutes later, City were awarded a penalty when Angol was bought down inside the 18-yard box.

Angol himself stepped up to take the spot-kick and made no mistake in ensuring City went in front, for the first time in the evening.

The forward then went close to completing his hat-trick after the interval, but his header was cleared off the line after he had risen highest to meet Oscar Threlkeld's cross.

There were no further goal-scoring opportunities in a comeptitive second half, as City saw the game out to earn another win.
