CLARKE READY FOR ‘INTERESTING’ BOLTON CHALLENGE

Billy Clarke is excited for what he believes will prove an “interesting” challenge - when Bolton Wanderers visit the Utilita Energy Stadium on Saturday.

The Bantams entertain Ian Evatt’s men on the back of five-straight victories, while the visitors have themselves dropped only two points from their last eight matches.

Clarke believes two of the division’s in-form sides will contest a tense encounter in West Yorkshire, which would have been welcomed by an electric Valley Parade atmosphere, had supporters been permitted.

The Irishman said: “It would have been a brilliant atmosphere, so it is a shame there will not be any fans there.

“Hopefully, it will be a good game, which we will do well in and manage to get a good result.

“We are aware of the run Bolton are currently on, and it should all make for a very interesting game.

“We know we are going up against a good side, but we have to concentrate on our game and do all we can to try and get the three points.”

Now back fit again after a spell on the sidelines, Clarke is relishing the opportunity to get a run of games under his belt and help the team further.

After two substitute appearances, the City forward will be hoping to push himself further into the starting picture ahead of the weekend, and is enjoying being in a positive dressing room.

He added: “It has been a challenge for me at times this season, but I am pleased to be back fit and just looking forward to playing regularly again.

“I have made a few substitute appearances and am just looking forward to playing more.

“Being in and around a winning team has been great, and it is encouraging to be a part of.

“It makes things a lot easier and more enjoyable on the pitch, so I am just looking forward to playing games regularly again.”
