COOK ‘RARING TO GO’ AGAINST OLDHAM

18 March 2021

City striker Andy Cook admits he and his team-mates cannot wait to return to action - ahead of this weekend’s visit of Oldham Athletic.

City have not played since suffering back-to-back defeats at Carlisle United on Saturday, after a run of six games unbeaten.

Cook has called for the Bantams to respond to this disappointment against the Latics, and is confident of being able to do so.

He said: “We have to stand up and be counted after two defeats, but the lads are all confident and raring to go again.

“Training has been as upbeat as ever, and we all want to put the last two results right, which we are determined to do.

“The mood has been very positive, and we are all just looking forward to the game and hopefully returning to winning ways.”

After a week away from Tuesday evening action, the frontman feels Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars’ men have had an opportunity to rest, recover and realign their minds ahead of the Utilita Energy Stadium clash.

The Mansfield Town loanee feels the side will be better for the break from midweek fixtures, and is looking forward to returning to the field.

Cook added: “The week off has been good for the lads, and we have been able to go through what we needed to put right from the weekend.

“We are looking to get back out on Saturday and hopefully get back to winning ways.

“It has been good to have a clean week without a game, and a break from all the travelling.

“It has given us a break to recharge the batteries ahead of this weekend, and we are all buzzing to get back out there.”

Keep in the loop with Bradford City
