City’s under-18s made it four wins in five games with a 4-1 triumph over Grimsby Town - in the EFL Youth Alliance North East division.
A Connor Morris hat-trick and a goal from Dylan Youmbi was enough for the young Bantams to gain all three points at their Woodhouse Grove training base, making them unbeaten in five matches.
The hosts broke the deadlock with 10 minutes played when Youmbi’s low cross was tapped in from close range by Morris.
The Mariners then went close to levelling the scoring when Harry Milner’s right-footed effort flew just wide of the far post.
The Bantams almost netted their second of the contest when skipper Charlie Wood unleashed a left-footed effort which was denied by goalkeeper Patrick Boyes.
However, moments later, City did double their advantage when Bobby Pointon squared to Youmbi - who smashed the ball into the back of the net to make sure his side took a two-goal lead into the interval.
The Bantams added another shortly after the restart when, despite Morris having his original header saved, he remained alert to score the rebound.
A few minutes later, Pointon put in a low cross towards Morris, who finished past the goalkeeper to complete his hat-trick.
The visitors did snatch a consolation goal with a couple of minutes remaining, when a cross into the box was accidentally headed into his own net by Wood.
This mattered little though, as City earned another victory to remain undefeated on home soil in 2021.
