City’s under-18s made it three wins in four games with a 3-2 victory over Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Youth Alliance North East division.
The young Bantams netted twice in the first half and once in the second, which proved enough to extend their unbeaten run to four matches at their Woodhouse Grove training base.
The hosts had the first opportunity of the game when a through ball found Connor Morris whose effort went narrowly wide of the far post.
Olivier Sukiennicki’s free-kick was then pushed out for a corner shortly after, by Donny’s goalkeeper Luke Chadwick.
City broke the deadlock with 33 minutes played when skipper Charlie Wood’s cross from the right-hand side was headed in by Cole Roberts.
A few minutes later, the Bantams were awarded a penalty after Morris was fouled inside the 18-yard box.
Morris himself stepped up to take the spot-kick and scored, to make sure his side took a commanding lead into the interval.
It was the visitors’ turn to be awarded a penalty when Sam Bentley committed a foul inside the area.
Substitute Lewis Cunningham took the penalty and converted, to half the deficit.
However, moments later, the Bantams regained their two-goal advantage when Sukiennicki played the ball to Bobby Pointon, whose left-footed effort from the edge of the 18-yard box flew past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
Rovers were then awarded their second spot-kick of the encounter when Tavonga Kuleya was bought down just inside the area.
Cunningham again took the penalty and made no mistake.
City had a chance to seal the three points late on when Wood went one-on-one with the goalkeeper but had his shot saved.
However, it mattered little, as the Bantams saw the game out and claimed the victory.
