ADAMS LOOKING FORWARD TO EXETER REPLAY

16 November 2021

Derek Adams is looking forward to this evening's Emirates FA Cup replay – ahead of City’s trip to Exeter City.

The Bantams boss is happy with his side's recent performances and results against the teams towards the top of the Sky Bet League Two table and, after feeling the Bantams should have won the first fixture, is hoping they can enjoy a positive performance and result.

He said: “We are looking forward to it. In the first tie, we probably should have won the game.

“We hit the bar, we hit the post and we had a number of really good opportunities.

“We have done well against the likes of Forest Green Rovers, Swindon, Exeter and Port Vale.

“So, we can compete against the top teams, and now we have to go there and score more than them.”

The in-form Grecians are on an 18-game unbeaten run in all competitions, however the City chief has full faith that his side is capable of stopping their run.

He added: “We come up against an Exeter team who are 18 games unbeaten in all competitions, so they are on an excellent run and have had a terrific spell.

“We will have to go there and defeat them to break that record. It is a long unbeaten run they have had, a club record.

“Exeter have got that momentum, but the run has got to come to an end at some point. We have got to go there to progress and try to end their unbeaten run.

“We have got the squad and players to stop their run, and we have got to do it to advance to the next round of the cup.”
