ANGOL CONFIDENT AHEAD OF FA CUP REPLAY

Lee Angol insists confidence is high ahead of the Bantams’ Emirates FA Cup first-round replay at fellow Sky Bet League Two side Exeter City.

City will be aiming to advance to the second round of the competition for the fourth time in five seasons, when visiting St James Park (7.45pm).

While Angol is expecting a difficult test from the Grecians, he is positive the Bantams can end their opponents’ 18-match unbeaten run.

He said: “We do not go into any game feeling anyone is bigger or better than us, so we just want to go into this game knowing we can win.

“We should be higher up and on more points, so we go into games confident, knowing we should be in the heights of this league.

“It is in the FA Cup, and it is a different challenge against a good team in our league, but we just want to look at it like any other game and go in to win it.”

The 27-year-old spoke fondly of the support he has received from City manager Derek Adams.

Angol has so far appeared in all six games that he has been fit and available for selection in this campaign, and has come in for praise from Adams after arriving over the summer.

He added: “The gaffer's support makes me feel comfortable.

“Everywhere you go, you want your manager to support you and believe in you, and I am really happy here.

“To know he has that belief in me is really encouraging, and gives me the confidence to go on and play my football.”
