City’s under-19s returned to winning ways in the EFL Youth Alliance North East division, with a 3-2 triumph over Mansfield Town.
The young Bantams netted three first-half goals which were enough to secure the victory at the Stags' Radford & Hymas Academy.
The hosts hit the front in the opening minute of the contest when a long ball over the City defence was latched onto and finished off.
Martin Drury’s team then equalised immediately after when skipper Charlie Wood played a through ball to Bobby Pointon, who rounded the goalkeeper before slotting the ball into the back of the net.
The visitors then went on take the lead, when George Thewlis’ pass picked out Wood who struck a volley over the onrushing goalkeeper which bounced over the goal-line.
City added to their advantage just before the interval when Thewlis this time picked out Cole Roberts on the right-hand side, who took the ball past the defender and struck a fierce effort into the far corner of the goal.
The visitors did pull a goal back in the second period when a shot from the edge of the penalty area nestled into the bottom corner.
However, it mattered little as the young Bantams saw the game out to earn their sixth league win in nine outings this season.
