AWAY DAY GUIDE: SWINDON TOWN v CITY

23 October 2021

The Bantams will be looking to get back to winning ways when visiting Swindon Town at The County Ground.

We have compiled a handy Away Day Guide - packed full of useful information ahead of the 3.00pm contest.

STADIUM ADDRESS

The Energy Check County Ground

County Road

Swindon

Wiltshire

SN1 2ED

ABOUT THE GROUND

The Energy Check County Ground has been home to Swindon Town since 1896 - having opened four years earlier.

A 15,728-capacity venue, the ground is comprised of four stands - the Arkell's Stand, Stratton Bank, Town End and Don Rogers Stand.

The stadium was occupied by the war department in 1940 to house prisoners of war.

TICKETS

City supporters will be unable to purchase admission on the day of the game, with over 400 Bantams set to make the trip down and cheer their side on.

Supporters who have purchased tickets online or by phone and are yet to collect from the Utilita Energy Stadium will be able to pick it up from a Bradford City club official - from 1.00pm - on Saturday - outside the entrance to the away end.

CAR PARKING

Car parking is available - for £5 - at St. Joseph's Secondary School (SN3 3LR) - situated just a five-minute walk from the stadium.

Limited street parking around the ground is also available, with various town centre car parks just half a mile from the stadium.

ENTERTAINMENT AND REFRESHMENTS

To drink:

Away fans are treated to their own bar, called Bar 71, which is located by the away turnstiles. However, this is quite small and tends to fill up quickly.

The Cricket Club, located along County Road - behind the visiting Arkell's Stand - also welcomes away supporters.

To eat:

Food is available to purchase inside the ground, with a selection of curries, pies and pastries on offer.

For those who prefer to eat before/after the game - there is a burger bar located in the main car park, while there is a Burger King and a Fish and Chip shop across the road from the ground.

GETTING THERE

By car:

Take the M40 to junction 9. Then take the A43, A34 and then the A420 into Swindon.

At Drakes' Roundabout turn onto Queen's Drive. At the next set of roundabouts take the third exit onto County Road, the entrance to the stadium is the first right.

By train:

From the front of the station turn left onto Station Road. Facing the White House pub, head right onto Corporation Street.

At the traffic lights turn left onto Manchester Road. At the end of Manchester Road turn right onto County Road. The entrance to the stadium is the second left.

This walk should take approximately 10 minutes.
