BASS: 'WE WILL GIVE OUR ALL'

8 April 2022

Alex Bass insists City will continue to give their all - no matter where or who they are playing - ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Northampton Town.

The Bantams have won two of their last three away games and will be hoping to return to winning ways at Sixfields (3.00pm).

The Portsmouth loanee denied any possibility of he and his team-mates losing concentration towards the end of the season, and instead wants to maintain standards.

He said: “We are aggressive. We want to get on the ball, press and get at our opponents.

“When you are away from home and have that attitude, it often works quite well, and long may it continue.

“I think the style of football will be different. Northampton have been quite direct before, whereas Bristol Rovers tend to get the ball on the floor. Hopefully, we can give a good account of ourselves.

“We are fully committed until the end of the season. It does not matter where we are, or who we are playing, we will give it our all.”

Bass has played every minute at the club since joined in January, which has continued under Mark Hughes.

The goalkeeper is honoured to be working with Hughes, and is enjoying regular game time under the Welshman.

He added: “It is crazy. When he came into the building there was a massive lift.

“He is a big name and a great manager at a top level, he has a clear identity of how he wants to play and everyone is bought in to that. You can see that the whole club has been lifted massively.

“He has a way of playing and speaks to us goalkeepers a lot about that, but for the most part it is just letting us get on with our jobs.

“It is a great honour to be working with him.”

Tickets are available from Sixfields tomorrow, at a CARD ONLY charge of £2 extra. CLICK HERE for full details.
