UKRAINE EMERGENCY APPEAL: THANK YOU

27 April 2022

After close to two months and a total of 770 boxes of aid, Bradford City AFC and Bradford City Community Foundation will no longer be collecting physical donations as part of its Ukraine Emergency Appeal.

Launched at the beginning of last month, the appeal - together with official charity partner Human Relief Foundation - was formed in an attempt to assist the growing crisis in Eastern Europe.

Thanks to the generous donations of the public, the club has been able to ship close to 800 boxes of donations on the Romanian and Ukrainian border to the dedicated mother and babies centre.

Pushchairs and other examples of desperately-needed aid were driven into Eastern Ukraine, which saw Community Foundation officials cover close to 11,000 miles in total, working early mornings and late evenings in order to provide for those most in need.

The club will now cease collecting physical aid, and instead continue to focus on raising funds, through its dedicated JustGiving page, in order to continue assisting those affected by the conflict.

A total of £3,000 has been raised at present, and will be sent to Ukraine by the Community Foundation in order to further assist in the immediate future.

Physical donations were being collected at The City Shop at the Utilita Energy Stadium, and also at the Horsfall Community Stadium thanks to our friends at Bradford (Park Avenue), before being held at a unit in Bradford provided by BizSpace.

From there, Adam Thirsk, Stephen Gilroy, Wayne Dunnington, Mark Penney and Mariyam Karolia ensured each item of aid was successfully delivered to Eastern Europe in order to assist.

The club would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made the aspect of the Ukraine Emergency Appeal possible, including Freemans, Sing See Supermarket and Coniston Hall Hotel and Yorkshire Clinic for their hard work and generous donations.

In partnership with Human Relief Foundation, the club will continue to accept financial donations in order to continue helping those in need as far as possible. For full details, and to donate to the appeal, please CLICK HERE.
