AWAY DAY GUIDE: HARROGATE v CITY

5 February 2022

The Bantams will be making the short trip north this afternoon to face local rivals Harrogate Town in Sky Bet League Two.

This will be the first time City fans have visited Wetherby Road in a competitive setting, and the Bantams are looking for their first league victory over their Yorkshire rivals.

We have compiled a handy Away Day Guide - packed full of useful information ahead of the 1.00pm contest!

STADIUM ADDRESS

ENVIROVENT STADIUM

WETHERBY ROAD

HARROGATE

NORTH YORKSHIRE

HG2 7SA

ABOUT THE GROUND

The EnviroVent Stadium, more commonly known as Wetherby Road, has been inhabited by Harrogate Town since 1920 after their move from Starbeck Lane.

As Harrogate had never previously been a part of the EFL, Wetherby Road had to undergo significant renovations upon their promotion.

The stadium had previously boasted an artificial pitch, which is not allowed under EFL restrictions, forcing Town to replace the surface with grass.

Similarly, Wetherby Road was renovated in order to meet the required 5,000 capacity under EFL law, forcing Town to play home games at Doncaster Rovers’ Keepmoat Stadium.

TICKETS

City supporters are reminded that tickets for this afternoon's clash are completely SOLD OUT

Close to 600 Bantams are set to travel to North Yorkshire, with no tickets to be available on the day of the game whatsoever. Please do not travel to the game without a valid match ticket.

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets purchased but either not received in the post or collected from the Utilita Energy Stadium can be collected from the main reception at The EnviroVent Stadium on matchday.

CAR PARKING

The EnviroVent Stadium does not have parking facilities on the premises, but street parking is available in the vicinity.

Local restrictions apply on the streets surrounding the EnviroVent, but the subsequent streets are accessible.

Supporters are reminded to be mindful of residents when parking.

ENTERTAINMENT AND REFRESHMENTS

To drink:

The nearest pub is the Woodlands, which is a short distance down the A661 Wetherby Road away from town.

A 10-minute walk in the opposite direction along the Wetherby Road is the Empress, which also offers food.

If arriving by train then just off Platform one is the Harrogate Tap, which has up to 11 real ales on offer.

Harrogate town centre is a 20-minute walk away from the ground, where there are plenty of pubs to be found including the Winter Gardens on Royal Baths Road, which is a Wetherspoons outlet.

To eat:

Kiosks are dotted around the ground where ‘traditional matchday’ food is available, such as pies and burgers.

Matchday food is also provided by catering company ‘burgers&more’, offering gourmet burgers and pies at a fair price.

GETTING THERE

By car:

Take the A658 and follow Harrogate Road.

When you reach the A61 roundabout, take the second exit onto John Metcalf Way.

At the next roundabout, take the first exit onto Wetherby Road and follow it until you see The EnviroVent.

By train: The EnviroVent is approximately 25-minutes from Hornbeam Park Station on foot.

Harrogate Train Station is directly next to the bus station and trains go direct to York and Leeds where you would change to reach Bradford.

The No.7 bus goes directly from the station to the EnviroVent and matchday prices are set at £1 for children and £2 for adults.
