City defender Luke Hendrie highlighted the importance of three points on the road, following last night's 1-0 victory at Stevenage.
The Bantams had a number of opportunities at the Lamex Stadium, but it was Jamie Walker’s second-half strike which secured the victory.
Hendrie was pleased his side proved able to grind out the result and head back to West Yorkshire happy.
He said: “We have had some sticky results recently, and sometimes what it takes is a gritty 1-0 win.
“The three points is the most important thing at this stage of the season.
“Hopefully, this can be a springboard for us now to push forward and string some results together.
“It is up to us now to take the step forward and be positive, because there is something there for us this season.”
Hendrie also admitted his delight at having made his second debut for the club, and been back on the field in City colours.
The defender re-joined in the January transfer window, four years after his first spell with City, and is looking to kick on further.
He added: “I was absolutely delighted to be back in a Bradford City shirt.
“It is an opportunity I am really hoping to grasp with both hands.
“I am here to work and make an impact, so I will not rest on that.
“It is easy to say it, but it is another thing doing it, and we have got to show it out on the pitch.”
