UP TO 50 FREE TICKETS PER GAME AS PART OF PRIDE MONTH CELEBRATIONS

1 February 2022

To celebrate Pride Month 2022, Bradford City AFC is offering up to 50 free tickets to local LGBTQ+ groups, for each of its final three home fixtures throughout February.

This month, the club will come together with other organisations nationwide to celebrate and champion differences and encourage LGBTQ+ inclusivity.

As part of this pledge, the club is inviting applications via e-mail from local LGBTQ+ groups who wish to each secure up to 50 tickets for this month’s visits of Exeter City (Saturday February 12), Harrogate Town (Tuesday February 22) and Mansfield Town (Saturday February 25).

Up to 50 tickets for each of these three fixtures will be available to each group who applies via e-mail, as we push to continue making football everyone’s game, and Bradford City AFC everyone’s club.

To apply, group representatives are asked to e-mail helpdesk@bradfordcityafc.co.uk with the subject line ‘Pride Month 2022’, stating which group they are representing, how many tickets up to 50 they would like to secure free of charge, and for which of the three aforementioned fixtures.

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets for tonight’s visit of Leyton Orient are not included in this initiative, though tickets for the fixture can be secured by CLICKING HERE.

As part of the club’s Pride Month celebrations, the Utilita Energy Stadium will also host a first-ever LGBTQ+ Convention on Saturday February 19, between 10.00am and 4.00pm, with stalls, food, entertainment, guest speakers and more.

Admission is FREE OF CHARGE, while stalls can also still be booked out for just £30.

A club with a rich history of LGBTQ+ inclusivity, in 2011, City became the first professional football club in the UK to allow literature addressing anti-gay and LGBT issues to be distributed at a football game.

The Bantams were then the third club in the UK to sign the Government’s charter tackling homophobia and transphobia in sport, publicly doing so ahead of our fixture against Plymouth Argyle on 10th December 2011. On that day, the club hosted a ‘day of action’ addressing homophobia and transphobia in football.

Then, during the 2013/14 season, Bradford City AFC became the first club in the UK to fly the traditional Gay Pride flag, in a move to promote inclusivity and as a mark of solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.

The club prides itself on remaining an inclusive environment, welcoming people from all parts of the community, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or social background.

For more information on any of the above, please contact the club’s LGBTQ+ Liaison Officer, Marco Townson, on helpdesk@bradfordcityafc.com.

To apply for up to 50 free tickets for the three aforementioned home fixtures this month, please e-mail helpdesk@bradfordcityafc.co.uk with the subject line ‘Pride Month 2022’, stating which group you are representing, how many tickets you would like to secure, and for which of the three aforementioned fixtures.
