BANTAMS WINTER APPEAL DELIVERS 8,000 FOOD UNITS

10 January 2022

The fantastic work of the Bradford City Community Foundation saw a total of 8,000 food units delivered to families most in need across Bradford this Christmas, through the Bantams Winter Appeal.

Over £600 of donations, including £250 from Derek Adams' first-team squad, meant 200 food packages could be distributed across the district, over the space of two weeks during the festive season.

A strategic partnership with Aldi on Stanningley Road enabled the club's official charity branch, through donations, to obtain and distribute food between December 20 and January 2.

Partnerships were also formed with Bradford Metropolitan District Council, through the Household Support Fund, while NCS changemakers helped pack food parcels and Community Foundation chief executive officer and former City frontman Ian Ormondroyd joined those distributing packages.

All families helped were also each offered tickets for City home fixtures in the New Year.

Food support in the Community Foundation has been running since October 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, over 1,150 families have been supported.
