BANTAMS LAUNCH UKRAINE EMERGENCY APPEAL ALONGSIDE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AND HRF

7 March 2022

Bradford City AFC has today - alongside the Bradford City Community Foundation and Human Relief Foundation - launched an emergency appeal amid the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

The club has teamed up with its official charity arm and official charity partner to host a service which aims to aid the people of Ukraine as much as possible, through emergency supplies and financial donations.

As part of the appeal, the club has launched an official JustGiving fundraiser, which first featured during Saturday’s game against Swindon Town, and can be visited by CLICKING HERE.

All proceeds from this page will be sent directly to HRF, specialists in emergency aid and appeal, who will utilise funds for the benefit of Ukraine.

The club’s Community Foundation is also hosting two dedicated drop-off points, again debuted over the weekend, where supporters are able to donate emergency aid such as food, drink, clothing and medical supplies, which will be shipped to Ukraine on behalf of Bradford City AFC.

These two points - at The City Shop at the Utilita Energy Stadium and also kindly hosted at the Horsfall Community Stadium by our friends at Bradford (Park Avenue) - will be open for donations during normal business hours.

They will also be open for each home matchday at Valley Parade, and the Horsfall for both BPA and Bradford City Women, on the back of a new official partnership to host home games in BD6.

Oliver Denton, marketing and communications manager at Human Relief Foundation, said: “As the official charity partner of Bradford City AFC, we believe we can work together to highlight the humanitarian crisis which is growing in its intensity every day.

“As HRF is an established charity with over three decades of experience in responding to humanitarian crises, we are able to help people on the ground who are in urgent need of our help.

“Both Bradford City AFC and HRF have launched pages where people can donate. All funds we raise will greatly benefit those affected by this horrific crisis.”

Bradford City Community Foundation’s director of operations, Adam Thirsk, said: “Following on from everything we have seen over the past couple of weeks in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, we view it as our duty to do whatever we can to help.

“As a club and a foundation, we are in a great position to support both Ukraine and other areas of the world which are struggling, and will do everything in our power to aid as many people as possible.

“We would like to take this opportunity to urge as many of you as possible to head over to the JustGiving page and donate, and also visit one of our drop-off points to help us send as much emergency aid over to Ukraine as possible. We stand with Ukraine.”
