Caolan Lavery insists City will descend on Forest Green Rovers determined to take all three points, ahead of tomorrow's clash.
City will be aiming to get back to winning ways at the New Lawn, in what will be manager Mark Hughes' first away trip since taking over.
Lavery is looking forward to the challenge and believes a victory would give the team a huge boost moving forward.
He said: “I am looking forward to it. On our day, I believe we are a match for anyone.
“Forest Green have been good this season and, over the last few years, they have been up there.
“The expectation should be for us to go and win the game. Of course, expectations for Forest Green will be high, but the same goes for us.
“We want to win games and we are going there excited and ready to play.
“It would be great to go away to the league leaders and win, no matter what our position is in the table. It would be a good result and we want to get that win to kick on.
“We are all disappointed with how the season has gone so far because we have a good squad of players.
“The only way to change things is by getting results. The main goal at the minute is to get a win, and as soon as we do that it could be an exciting end to the season.”
Lavery was delighted at returning to the starting line-up in City’s most recent encounter at home to Swindon Town.
Last weekend's start was the 29-year-old’s first since November and he is now hoping he can maintain his place for the remainder of the campaign.
He added: “It was nice to be back out there with the lads.
“I did not get many chances under the previous manager, but I hope to stay in the team for the rest of the season.
“You have to keep your head, work hard and be fit to be called upon when ready. It was difficult but, as I said, I am looking forward to the end of the season.”
