WALKER BELIEVES CONFIDENCE IS KEY

15 March 2022

Jamie Walker insists it is important the Bantams back up Saturday's positivity, with three points against Hartlepool United this evening.

The Bantams' victory over Forest Green Green was their first under Mark Hughes and tonight’s clash provides the perfect stage to continue their momentum.

City's No.10 insists the squad’s growing confidence is the main ingredient for on-field success, ahead of the clash.

He said: “The boys should take a lot of confidence from the way we played from the back to the front on Saturday, against a good side.

“We will take that into the Hartlepool game and try to build some momentum.

“I think we need to take confidence from the last two games.

“There is no point in going to the top of the league and winning 2-0 but losing after it. We are looking to go there and win.

“Hopefully, we can use the momentum from the last game to carry on.”

Since his arrival in January, Walker has impressed the City faithful with his ability and performances.

The Scot boasts an impressive resume, having played at the highest level of football north of the border, and the 28-year-old is loving life in West Yorkshire and hoping to continue contributing.

He added: “Ever since I came here, the fans have been fantastic with me and hopefully I can repay them towards the end of the season with a few more goals.

“It is great as a footballer when the fans take to you. It can be a lonely place if they do not.

“There are a lot of people here in the same position as me, playing for the club and trying to get results.

“It is up to me to play well in these last 10 games and see what happens at the end of the season.”
