City were denied three points by a last-minute penalty at the University of Bradford Stadium, drawing 1-1 at home to Swindon Town.

Tyreik Wright scored his third goal for City which put the hosts in front on the 31st minute, however Luke Jephcott's rebounded penalty in injury time rescued a point for the visitors.

The Bantams, under the lights for the first time in Sky Bet League Two this campaign, started the better of the two sides, with much of the possession inside Swindon’s half.

City’s efforts on goal came thick and fast around the half-hour mark. Chapman dragged an effort narrowly wide, before then seeing his low free-kick saved by Brynn.

The Bantams had made their dominance count soon after, however. Decent build-up play found Dion Pereira, and the on-loan Luton Town winger cut inside and found the on-running Wright.

The Aston Villa loanee shrugged off pressure from the Robins defence and drilled home with his left foot to put City in the lead, collecting his third goal in claret and amber.

Scott Lindsey’s side started the second period stronger, as Jacob Wakeling managed to steer an effort on target from a tight angle, but it was saved by Harry Lewis. Minutes later, he tested City’s No.1 once again, but his snapshot sailed wide.

The Bantams were unlucky not to have netted a second as their pressure grew in the final half-hour. Pereira had a right-footed effort impressively stopped by Sol Brynn, and second-half introduction Lee Angol went close with a drilled shot to Brynn’s right.

Swindon kept coming forward though and, as the game approached the end of normal time, made their pressure count.

Brad Halliday was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area from an Ellis Iandolo cross. Luke Jephcott stepped up to take the spot-kick and Harry Lewis sprung brilliantly to save, though could not stop Jephcott from converting the rebound as City hearts were broken.

The Bantams went close still to taking the three points through a Richie Smallwood free-kick in the final minute which flew narrowly wide, though the hosts were made to settle for a point.
