Mark Hughes was pleased by how his City side went about their business without any drama, following today’s 3-0 victory over Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena.

The Welshman has been happy to see other players contributing and adding to their goal tally over the last few games, and praised another professional performance at Spotland.

“It was a good performance - no dramas,” he said.

“The early goal in the first half settled everyone down. It was pretty straightforward after that.

“In the second half, we allowed them to have the ball in front of us, then when they tried to force it, we nicked it off them and counter-attacked.

“Andy Cook was still a threat today, despite not scoring. We have asked for all the boys to step up and add to the goals tally, today and over the last few games, and they have.

“(Sam) Stubbsy made out that he scores every week with that celebration today, but it was pleasing to see him score.

“We are in a good position at the moment, and we have to keep going until the end of the season.”

The Bantams boss praised the travelling support the Bantams received, as 3,158 City supporters packed out the Crown Oil Arena away end and cheered their side on.

The City chief is focused as the Bantams prepare for the final five games of the Sky Bet League Two season, as they push for the automatic-promotion places in the closing weeks.

“The support today was fantastic,” Hughes added.

“We are always surprised with the support we get, but we should not be. They turn out in numbers every week.

“They took up the whole side of the ground today, they never stopped singing, they had a great day today.

“We have to give them performances and results that will excite them, and that is what we always want to do. Our away form has been great, and the fans are a reason why it is.

“We have to do everything we can do. I have said that for the last few weeks.

“It is all about what we can achieve coming into the last weeks of the season.

“The run that we are currently on - we are in good form, hitting the form we are in at the moment - can get us over the line.”
