Jamie Walker was pleased with City’s bounce-back victory over Crewe Alexandra as the Bantams “needed a reaction” after last weekend's defeat to Morecambe.

After returning from injury, Walker scored the winning goal as City made it two wins from two at the University of Bradford Stadium.

The Scot was happy to have got back on the scoresheet for his first of the season, but more importantly with the three points after a disappointing result last time out.

He said: “I am delighted. We knew we needed a reaction after last week and thankfully we got that.”

“I am delighted to get on the scoresheet and also to get all three points.

“Crewe have scored a lot of goals so far this season so that makes keeping a clean sheet even better.

“Getting the winning goal can only be good for my confidence. It feels great to hit the ground running and hopefully it will continue.”

Tuesday night sees City make the trip to Wrexham in the Carabao Cup, a game Walker is looking forward to, as the Bantams bid to book their place in Round Three.

“Tuesday night is a chance to get into the third round of the cup, where the so-called bigger teams enter the competition,” he added.

“I think the manager will go with a strong team, and it will be a game we are looking to win.

“If we get through, you never know where it might take you, as many people have seen here before.

“It is another game we are looking forward to. It is not going to be easy, but hopefully we can get the right result.”
