Clarke Oduor praised the character City showed yesterday as they came back from a two-goal deficit to earn a point against Morecambe at the University of Bradford Stadium.

The Bantams' No.12 was happy to get on the scoresheet, as he arrived at the right time to give City their first goal of the game.

Numbers are something he wants to improve on, getting into the right positions to score goals, and he hopes he can take the goal and momentum into the remainder of the season.

“As a squad, we showed real character today,” he said.

“It was not the first half we wanted, and not the start we wanted, but we were happy with the way we came back.

“It is what I want to get better at, arriving in the box at the right times, coming into those positions and picking up those spaces.

“I got into a good position and was able to slot my goal away. It is something I am always looking to improve on.”

The 24-year old discussed the words of encouragement Bantams boss Graham Alexander had for the team at half-time, describing how Alexander wanted City to forget the first half, go into the second with a refreshed mind and come out with a better performance.

Oduor wants to take the momentum the Bantams have built on their seven-game unbeaten run, and the second-half performance yesterday into Friday’s game, where City welcome Sky Bet League Two leaders Stockport County to the University of Bradford Stadium.

“(Alexander said) 'It is all about the second half now',” Oduor added.

“'The first half is out of the way, we cannot change that, but we can change our performance in the second period'.

“'We need to be better than we were, better than the opposition, and push forward and score goals'.

“We are confidant, (ahead of Friday) and we are taking things game by game.

“We will go out there on Friday at home with the crowd behind us, like they were today, and get after it from the first minute.

“We want to start the game as we finished this game, and hopefully we can do that Friday.”
