YOUNG BANTAMS HELD AT GLANFORD PARK

City’s under-19s battled out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park on Saturday, in the EFL Youth Alliance North East.

In a topsy-turvy game in north Lincolnshire, the hosts took the lead through Harrison Poulter, before goals from Isaac Robinson and Ian Kamga flipped it on its head, but a Tyrell Sellars-Fleming free-kick split the points.

After a nervy start to the encounter, the hosts broke the deadlock on 15 minutes.

Poulter used his strength to win the ball off Noah Wadsworth, driving into the box and finishing into the bottom corner.

City started to grow into the game and strung a neat move together which found Casey Breaks on the right-hand side of the box.

He tried to slot into the far bottom-left corner, but his effort rolled just wide of the mark.

The visitors continued to grow in confidence and came close again. A well-worked free-kick found Jeffers in the box, though he proved unable to turn home.

Soon after, however, City would draw level in style, through a wondergoal from Robinson.

The young Bantams' top goal-scorer picked up the ball 30 yards out and fancied his chances. He shot on the volley and it sailed into the bottom corner to level things again.

Ryan Farrell's side picked up where they left off after the break, taking the advantage shortly after the restart.

A well-worked set piece found Kamga, who rose highest and headed home to give City a strong opening to the second 45.

Despite the Bantams' fast start, the hosts replied shortly after. A deflected free-kick from Sellars-Fleming deceived Heath Richardson in the City net to find its way into the bottom corner.

The visitors stepped it up a gear, going in search of the winner late on. Substitute Harry Ibbitson rose highest from a cross into the box but headed his effort wide of the near post.

Neither side could find the decisive goal in the end, as the points were shared. Farrell's boys next take on Rotherham United at the Horsfall Community Stadium in the EFL Youth Alliance North East division.
