Bradford City AFC is delighted to confirm the signing of exciting winger Thierry Nevers - on loan from Premier League side West Ham United.

The 20-year-old arrives at the University of Bradford Stadium on a deal until the end of the 2022/23 season.

A product of the Reading academy, Nevers joined the Hammers in May 2021, and has spent the first half of the current campaign on loan at Newport County.

He said: “I am happy and excited to be here, and am grateful for the opportunity. I have had a great welcome already, and cannot wait to getting going.

“The manager has told me he believes in me and likes what he sees. I want to force my way into the team and stay there to help us achieve our goals.

“This is an ambitious club with high expectations, so I am looking forward to coming here and playing for what I represent, which is the badge and the supporters.

“I have experience at this level already which was a challenge, but I learnt a lot and feel I am in a stronger position - technically, tactically and mentally.

“I like to bring flair and entertainment, and am looking forward to getting my head down, getting straight to business and battling for promotion.”

City manager Mark Hughes said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Thierry to the club, and are looking forward to seeing him in action.

“He is a bright, energetic player with plenty of pace, and experience at this level having spent the first half of the season at Newport.

“He is a player who prides himself on entertaining and getting supporters off their seats, so hopefully he will be able to do that at Valley Parade throughout his time here, and contribute towards what we aim to make a successful second half of the campaign.”

Nevers will wear the No.34 shirt in claret and amber, and be sponsored by EM Workwear and Embroidery for the remainder of the 2022/23 season. His signing is subject to the relevant EFL and FA clearances.
