Bradford City AFC is delighted to reveal the club’s all-new 2023/24 Macron home kit, available from 5.00pm today.
The strip will go on sale via City’s official retail website from 5.00pm today (Wednesday), and will be available from the Bradford City Store exclusively to ‘We are the Bantams’ members between 5.00pm and 7.00pm, before going on general sale in store from 9.00am tomorrow (Thursday).
Celebrating ‘120 Years of Claret & Amber’, the kit sees a hooped pattern return to the shirt for the first time since the 2012/13 season, paying homage to the first strip ever worn by the club in 1903. It is completed by a white, buttoned, folding collar, with the letters ‘BCAFC’ stitched into the rear.
Main club partners JCT600 and University of Bradford take pride of place, respectively sublimated into the fabric on the front and back, with the latter appearing for the first time as back of shirt sponsor, after a new agreement was announced last week.
White shorts and socks are finished with a claret and amber trim, both adorned with Macron and Bradford City branding to ensure claret and amber will remain on the field at all times.
The jersey has again been crafted from Macron’s lightweight and tear-resistant Eco-Softlock fabric, a 100% recycled polyester yarn certified by the Global Recycled Standard.
In particular, the back is in Eco Micromesh: a breathable technical fabric, specially designed for game sets with 100% recycled polyester yarn. It is comfortable thanks to its softness and elasticity.
The lateral inserts in Eco Mesh give this fabric maximum breathability and lightness, thanks to the micro-perforated construction.
Launched alongside a powerful video, the ‘120 Years of Claret & Amber’ campaign sees men’s first-teamers Andy Cook and Clarke Oduor feature alongside Bradford City Women defender Dani Trickett, against a vast, loud claret and amber backdrop.
The campaign highlights the uniqueness of Bradford City and the 120-year anniversary of our colours, reinforced by Bantams flags courtesy of North West Kollektive, symbolising tribal, passionate, unrivalled support.
A rubberised club crest - complete with a star marking the 1911 FA Cup triumph - is pressed onto a panel which is embroidered into the shirt, appearing on the front alongside the Macron logo.
The rear of the jersey is complemented by a traditional black ribbon, paying tribute to the lives tragically lost in the Valley Parade Fire Disaster on 11th May 1985.
The strip will make its debut this Saturday (July 8), when the Bantams face Bury in their opening pre-season friendly (3.00pm), in what will be the first game back at Gigg Lane since the Shakers’ rebirth.
