CARABAO CUP AND EFL TROPHY DRAWS ON FIXTURE RELEASE DAY

21 June 2023

The draws for the first round of the Carabao Cup and EFL Trophy will take place on EFL fixture release day, next Thursday (June 22).

Both draws will be held live on Sky Sports, after City have found out their Sky Bet League Two fixture list at 9.00am that morning

The Bantams have been allocated ball No.7 in the Northern side of the Carabao Cup draw, and have been drawn alongside Barnsley and Grimsby Town in Northern Group F of the EFL Trophy.

The cup draws will complete the early-season schedule later tomorrow, with the Carabao Cup Round One draw taking place live on Sky Sports from 2.30pm.

A total of 36 fixtures will be drawn for round one, with all 72 EFL clubs included. The 12 Premier League clubs not competing in Europe will join in round two, with the other eight Premier League clubs starting in round three.

The round one draw will see teams drawn in Northern and Southern sections, with matches scheduled to take place over the week commencing Monday August 7.

This will come after the EFL Trophy Group Stage draw has taken place live on Sky Sports at 11.30am that morning.

The 16 invited under-21 teams will be placed into their respective Northern and Southern section groups, with the 48 EFL clubs placed into pre-determined groups prior to the draw. Consideration has been given to ensure travel time is minimised and recovery time is maximised for players.

All EFL clubs will play two of their three matches at home in the group stages, with under-21 teams away from home in all three fixtures.

The invited 'Northern' under-21 teams are as follows:

- Everton

- Leicester City

- Liverpool

- Manchester City

- Manchester United

- Newcastle United

- Nottingham Forest

- Wolverhampton Wanderers

The respective draws will be confirmed on EFL Twitter channels - @Carabao_Cup and @TheEFLTrophy - and EFL.com.
