BANTAMS LISTED IN FAN ENGAGEMENT INDEX TOP 10

23 March 2023

- City rise 19 places to 9th
- In top 10 for first time ever
- Most improved club in England since rankings were introduced - 77 places climbed

Bradford City AFC has been listed in the top 10 of the Think Fan Engagement Index for the first time ever, climbing a further 19 places to 9th.

City’s 2021/22 score represents a 77-place ascent over the course of the past three years, making the Bantams the most improved club in the country since the index was introduced - following the 2018/19 campaign.

Having been ranked 86th in the inaugural table, City then climbed to 43rd based on 2019/20, and a further 15 places to 28th on the back of 2020/21, before yesterday’s 2021/22 report listed the Bantams inside the top 10 for the very first time.

The review ranks each of the 92 professional clubs in England based on fan experience and engagement, scoring ‘dialogue’, ‘governance’ and ‘transparency’, and is compiled annually by Think Fan Engagement.

This year, City scored a total of 150 points, with 80 for dialogue - the joint-highest rating in this category - and 35 each for governance and transparency.

Points were awarded largely as a result of City's continued open communication lines, through fans’ forums, a growing relationship with the Bradford City Supporters Board and a dedicated supporter services website.

Kevin Rye, director of Think Fan Engagement, said: “Bradford City breaking into the Fan Engagement Index top 10 is an example of a club that has set a course - to be better at engaging with its fans - and has stuck to it, pure and simple.

“Whatever the results on the field, what Ryan Sparks and his team behind the scenes have done is to ensure that fans are engaged with, listened to, and involved. That is exactly how things should be done.”
