HUGHES AND COOK NOMINATED FOR MONTHLY AWARDS

7 March 2023

City manager Mark Hughes and striker Andy Cook have been nominated for the respective February Sky Bet League Two Manager and Player of the Month awards.

The Bantams contested six matches throughout last month, winning four and drawing one to return a points tally of 13 from a possible 18.

Hughes' men began the month with a 1-1 draw at home to Mansfield Town on Saturday February 4, before wins at high-flying Stevenage and at home to Tranmere Rovers were followed by victories over Doncaster Rovers and Gillingham.

During this time, Cook racked up five goals - taking him clear at the top of the division's scoring charts - as well as registering a further two assists.

Hughes is up against Stockport County manager Dave Challinor, Matt Gray of Sutton United and Leyton Orient's Richie Wellens, while Cook will look to get the better of Stockport's Will Collar, Dan Kemp of Hartlepool United and Salford City's Elliot Watt.

The judging panel for the Manager of the Month award comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert and former City forward Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies, with the latter two joined by EFL chief executive Trevor Birch on the panel for the Player of the Month award.

The winners will be revealed on Friday March 10.
