Harry Chapman feels ready and "raring to go" - ahead of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup first-round tie against Wycombe Wanderers at the University of Bradford Stadium.

City’s No.20 is "happy to be back" after making his first start of the season in this week's Bristol Street Motors Trophy victory over Manchester City Under-21s, and wants to be big part of what the Bantams are trying to achieve this season.

The 25-year-old spoke of the mental fortitude it took during his time away from the first team with a hamstring injury he suffered late last season, stating that the journey has been tough but he is happy to be back on the pitch.

“I am raring to go again on Saturday,” he said.

“I feel good and am happy to be back involved with the boys. I want to be a big part of what we are trying to achieve this season.

“It has been frustrating - missing out on the play-off games last season and not being there to help out the at the start of the season.

“I am happy to be back on board now and want to say a big thanks to all the boys and staff at the club for the support I have been given.”

The playmaker spoke fondly of his memories of the Emirates FA Cup, including a hat-trick in a first-round tie against Leyton Orient in 2016, while on loan at Sheffield United.

Chapman is looking forward to the test of facing Sky Bet League One opposition as Wycombe sit 10th in the division above City, but insists the Bantams "have the capability" to deal with the Chairboys.

“I love the FA Cup, it is an unbelievable competition,” he added.

“I have been lucky enough to score a few goals in it. Scoring a hat-trick in any game is special, but in the FA Cup it was magical.

“It is a good test for us as a team, against a good team.

“It will be good to see where we are. We have good players here, and hopefully we can put on a good performance on Saturday.

“Being at home is always good, and I think we have the capability to put on a show.”
