Harry Lewis lauded the positive mood in the City camp as the Bantams go in search of a fourth-successive victory when Wrexham visit the University of Bradford Stadium tomorrow.

The City stopper described how everyone is “heading in the same direction” and that there is a fresh, positive feeling, both in training and on matchdays.

The No.1 believes “something is building” in BD8, and that a “squad of fantastic players” is starting to get its season on track.

“As you can imagine, the mood in the camp is great,” he said.

“We are footballers, and our job is to win, so when you are doing that, the feeling is very positive.

“Individually, and collectively, morale is high, and we are in good place at the moment.

“Training is fun, matchdays are fun - it so easy to play football when you have a smile on your face.

“Everyone is heading the same direction, and there is no other place I would rather be right now.

“The lads have responded well to the change. Kev (McDonald) is a great guy, who has the respect of everyone in that dressing room.

“He has been great, and has brought a lot of togetherness into the building. We have started to turn things around.

“Something is building here. We have good players. There is competition all over the team - a squad of fantastic players.”

With close to 22,000 supporters expected at Valley Parade, the 25-year-old described the hype building around the encounter, but has the belief that City can back themselves against Wrexham, and “put a show on”.

He continued to describe the personal motivation of wanting to get one over on Saturday’s opponents, eyeing another three points against a side located within close proximity to his hometown of Shrewsbury.

“It is going to be a big one on Saturday. A lot of tickets have been sold,” Lewis continued.

“There is a lot of hype around this one, I feel. They are on a good run of form, but we have got past them once this season (in the Carabao Cup second round), so we can back ourselves.

“Like I have said, we are a very good side. We went away to Wimbledon, and took Swindon on, and got a clean sheet in both games.

“The messaging is strong from the management, the feeling is back. It is not arrogance we feel - it is belief.

“Valley Parade will always get a lot of support, but it is good when away fans show up, because it gives us a chance to put a proper show on.

“I am a boy from Shrewsbury - I do not need any more motivation to beat Wrexham!”
