HUGHES HAPPY TO BE BACK AT VP

Mark Hughes is happy to be back at the University of Bradford Stadium for this weekend's game against Grimsby Town in Sky Bet League Two.

After having just two home games in City’s opening eight this season, Hughes is looking forward to being back at Valley Parade and wants to build on the two home wins so far this season.

“It seems like a long time since the last home game, and this is only our third game in nine at home,” he said.

“It is good to be back at home. We have won our first two home games so it would be good to continue in that vein.

“Away games are a different environment and different preparation. That can be disruptive, but when we are at home it is familiar and more comfortable.

“We know what we want to do and you feel more comfortable in your own surroundings.

“Given the support we have, it all comes together, and that is why home games are better than away games, which is why we are looking forward to it.”

City have been selected for Sky Sports television coverage for the game, meaning kick-off has been brought forwards to 12.30pm.

Hughes insists it is just another game for his team, and the Sky cameras do not change too much in terms of his side's preparation.

“The early kick-off affects our preparations a little, but you have got to adjust accordingly,” he added.

“Being on TV does not really phase me. The lads have been televised before, so it is not such a big deal.

“Apart from there being a few new haircuts around the place, it is business as usual.”
