Tyler Smith was proud of City’s fighting spirit as the Bantams came away with all three points, thanks to his 90th-minute winner at Barrow.

Smith secured all three points with his late strike - a calm, cool and composed finish, minutes after being introduced as a substitute.

The frontman admitting he backed himself to score, showing the confidence and belief within the side to rally to a result.

“We kept fighting until the end, and we got the win,” he said.

“I am really happy with the result, everyone is. I feel we deserved that.

“We always know we can come to these places and win. It may not always be pretty, but we feel confident coming to these places.

“I always knew I was going to score, I knew where I was going to put it.

“I back myself every time to score, so I was delighted to get the winner and secure all three points.”

City’s No.14 spoke about the belief the squad has within, discussing how the team has kept fighting, stuck together and are now reaping the rewards.

The 25-year old is eagerly anticipating City’s last game of the season, at the University of Bradford Stadium, where if results go the Bantams' way, they could be bound for the play-offs for the second-consecutive season.

“People may have wrote us off, but we are still here fighting,” Smith added.

“It has been good. We have been chipping away and we are still there, still with a chance.

“We are still fighting. We knew we could take it to the last day, we all stuck together, and continued to put points on the board.

“I cannot wait for Saturday. These are the games you want. We are not here just to play a part, we are here to do things.

“We are here to achieve goals, now roll onto the weekend and roll onto Newport.”
