Calum Kavanagh was delighted to have netted his first goal for City in last night's 4-0 victory over MK Dons.

Kavanagh scored the Bantams' second goal of the evening, grabbing his first in claret and amber during an emphatic victory.

The January recruit was happy to be in the right place at the right time to notch his first goal, and hopes it can be the first of many.

“I was delighted to come away with the goal,” he said.

“It was a real positive result, a good team performance, and a brilliant night altogether.

“It is a good confidence booster for me. I have been looking forward to this, it was brilliant.

“I do not care how I score. As long as the ball hits the back of the net, it does not matter how it goes in.

“I was delighted to be in the right place at the right time to score the goal.”

City’s No.8 feels confidence is high within the Bantams' squad, following back-to-back wins over teams in the play-off spots, and three-consecutive clean sheets to add to that, but he wants the team to keep their heads screwed on and take things one game at a time to continue City’s positive momentum.

The Irishman is looking forward to getting back in action this weekend, when Sutton United visit the University of Bradford Stadium, insisting City have to rest and recovery the right way, to perform to their best on Saturday.

“There is a good level of confidence in the dressing room,” Kavanagh added.

“There is a good belief between all the players, with everyone looking forward to Saturday, taking every game as it comes.

“You can only look at the game ahead of you, that is all we can do.

“We have to rest right and recover right to do everything we can to the best of our ability on Saturday.”
