Clarke Oduor believes solely focusing on tomorrow night’s Bristol Street Motors Trophy Semi-Final against Wycombe Wanderers will aid City’s chances of progressing into the final.

The Kenyan international has recognised the “noise” surrounding the Bantams’ chances of playing at Wembley, but he knows the side have to be on their game against the Chairboys, before even thinking about the final.

“There is a lot of noise surrounding Wembley, but we have to get there first,” he said.

“We have to concentrate on tomorrow first and foremost, and see what we can do as a team - the last few weeks have shown we can compete.

“We cannot overthink it, the aim is play our football see where we are at the end of the 90.

“Everyone wants to go to Wembley, but it is a lot of hard work to get there.”

The playmaker, who has a goal and two assists in his last two games, recognised that the high confidence within the camp is a key factor in City’s recent upturn in form, as Graham Alexander’s side go in tomorrow’s clash having not conceded in their past five outings.

On a personal note, Oduor is “making the most” of the Bantams’ recent run and hopes to contribute to more victories, as he did last Saturday against Sutton United.

“There is a lot more confidence in the changing room now,” Oduor added.

“Even in the winless run, we knew we could have won and omit the mistakes.

“We have took the mistakes to go on this run we are currently on.

“Having that defensive stability, it gives you the license to have freedom further up the field.

“Personally too, it helps each individual. I am allowed to have more space further upfield and can help the other forward lads do what they do best.

“It is about making the most of it, but also it is about picking yourself up and remembering what you are about.

“I know what I am about - I am my own biggest critic. I can prove and provide.”
